What would a prairie wheat farmer's attitude be towards to those following issues?
World Peace: They don't really care about the world peace, unless there is no threaten to their products
Sexual Freedom: Actually, their environment is kind of more shielded in the village rather than those urban cities. To some extent as a wheat farmer, they do not authentically touch the information about sexual freedom and they may think that only man and woman can have the marriage relationship
The Role of Government: They are not truly care about how government operates as long as they follow the rules and those policies that government had published would benefit their production and support them as needed
Media violence: To be honest, media did not apply into their life very well, it is a relative slow technological development through village rather than those urban cities
Definition of Ideology: Ideology is a set of shared ideas or beliefs within a group, such as nation or social classes
Definition of Values:
Beliefs of a person which affects their mind and thinking when they interpret
What is the difference between a preferred and oppositional reading?
According to different people who live in different places, their personal ideology and values must be variety. When people receive a message from media, it will interpret it through their personal ideology and values. To some extent, if their major view is the same as the information that the message is trying to interpret, it is called a preferred reading. On the other hand, if there are some differences than what you think, so this is called an oppositional reading
