1. What is the media triangle???
The Media Triangle is a helpful tool for students to understand the key concepts of media literacy. Students are able to analyze a variety of media texts around three perspectives of the triangle which are audience, media text and production. Each of them can be simplified into three questions, it is very similar like the way of doing analysis on messages and meanings.
- Audience: Who is mainly targeted?
- Media Text: What meaning is being passed on?
- Production: How and why the meaning is being passed on?
2. How does it apply into the trailer of "ANNIE"???
- Text: Annie is an American musical comedy-drama film, it conveyed a story on a girl named "Annie" who lived in the orphanage since she was a baby. However, her life had totally changed when a billionaire took her out in a Christmas Holiday. After a few days of getting along with each other, he was willing to adopt Annie as his own daughter and help Annie to find her natural parents. In my own point of view, the film is telling us that "There is always something can change or save your life, tomorrow will be better!!!"
- Audience: It would be mainly targeted on the teenaged girls between 8 to 18 years old, because they might have some similar experiences as Annie through their life.
- Production: Through the trailer, I can realize that the production of this film are "Sony" "Colombia" and "Overbrook" and it had been used all kinds of technology through the trailer, such as how the camera moves, how the lighting is being controlled, how the post production looks like (Different transitions) etc.
